Wedding and Birthday Cakes

Cakes are fresh baked the day of your event. No freezer cakes here! All cake ingredients are organic, all eggs are free range. We also specialize in vegan, whole grain, and gluten free cakes. Please take a look at some of the ideas below and keep in mind that Sea Stars is happy to work with you to create the cake of your dreams. We will deliver to any venue in Big Sur.


Décor:

~We can decorate the top with Big Sur wild flowers, chocolate shavings, fresh berries, crushed caramel, coconut, handcrafted sugar flowers, handcrafted white chocolate butterflies (**additional charges apply for butterflies, fondant and sugar flowers).
~Flowers can be ordered from a florist  (additional charge per florist)


Icing/Filling:

~Frosting on outside of cake can be Buttercream, Whipped Cream, Meringue, Dark Chocolate Ganache, Cream Cheese Frosting or Fondant 
~Fillings can be Mousse, Curd, Pastry Cream, Whipped Cream, Meringue, Buttercream, Cream Cheese Frosting, Chocolate Fudge, Milk or Dark Chocolate Ganache

~Buttercreams and Whipped Creams~ Brown Butter, Vanilla Bean, Lavender, Rose, Lemon Verbena, Grand Marnier, Caramel, Almond, Coffee, Cinnamon
~ Mousses: Marzipan, Cappuccino, Chocolate, Peanut Butter, White Chocolate Peppermint

Cake Flavors:

~Chocolate Cakes: Devil’s Food, Chocolate Chiffon or Flourless Decadence
~Chiffon Cakes(lighter,spongier): Vanilla, Chocolate, Orange (my favorite!), Lemon, Burnt Sugar, Coconut

~Old Fashioned Cakes(richer, denser): Marzipan, Rum Butter, Poppyseed, Honey, Brown Butter, Pumpkin, Molasses, Carrot Zucchini, Sour Cream, Cornmeal, Olive Oil, Beet Velvet
~Frangipane (ground nut cake – any nut)  

All sugars and flours used are non-processed and organic. 

Vegan:
Vegan icing and  fillings: vegan cream cheese frosting, vegan buttercream, coconut ganache, almond ganache, fresh jams.
Most of the cakes flavors can be made to be completely vegan or dairy free. 

Gluten Free:
Most of the cakes flavors can be made to be completely gluten free using a special gluten free flour blend. The Frangipane Cake is already gluten free by nature.
